CENTENNIAL PHOTOS

There have been inquiries regarding how to obtain prints of the photographs taken at the Centennial Wedding Celebration.  Tracey has posted the photographs on her website, TreyThomasImages.com, and they are available for purchase at the Church’s discount price.  All profits will be donated back to the Church.

Given the number of photographs taken, and the number of dresses/couples photographed, we felt this was the easiest and fairest way to distribute these photographs.

The Church will be selecting some of these photographs to appear in the Centennial photo book that will be created later this year.

CELEBRATING 100 YEARS

OUR CHURCHES FAMILY TREE

We all remember learning the parts of a plant in science class.  Everyone knows that plants have roots, stems, leaves and flowers, fruit or seeds.

As part of the centennial celebration, we would like to begin creating our churches family tree.  We will remember past generations as our roots, recognize our stem, acknowledge our leaves and look forward to the flowers, fruit and seeds of our future.

This project will begin as a temporary structure as we begin with roots and stem and our church family adds leaves to represent our family members that built our church from the ground up.  If we as a church family add enough leaves to the tree, it is our hope that the tree will be reproduced as a permanent structure either as a sculpture or mural.

It’s like the song that we have sung as children and our children will continue to sing.  The leaf is on the branch, and the branch is on the limb, and the limb is on the tree, and the tree is in the ground, and the green grass grows all around, all around, and the green grass grows all around.

DEAR PA C HURC H FAMILY

I hope everybody is doing good.  I really miss you guys.  Is Wayne (Pixler) behaving if not I could always fly up there and talk to him and get things straight.

It sure is good to be in Texas again but it sure is hot.  It’s good to see my family again.

Please let everyone at church know that we are doing well and we miss EVERYONE.  Thank you for making such a great difference in my life and my parents.

Love, Bradley (March)

P.S.  God bless

“CHEFS” with a specialty of serving up the Word of God to children!

Vacation Bible School is looking for volunteers to spend evenings June 13th through June 17th at Shake It Up Café teaching the secret ingredients for being a follower of God.  At Shake It Up Café we will celebrate biblical festivals through dramas, crafts, games, and hours of fun!

Sign up for a Vacation Bible School leadership or supportive role and join us in the excitement at Shake It Up Café:  Where Kids Carry Out God’s Recipe.

There will also be a need for various food and supply items which are on sign up sheets in the folders and on the clipboard.

For more information call the church office (724-375-5287) or Susan Chance (724-203-0041).

PUPPET MINISTRY!

The Nurture Committee would like to start a puppet ministry for our church.  Using the VBS puppets to start, we are looking for “characters” to be puppeteers-memorizing is not necessary, folks to help with simple costumes and a puppet stage.  We will mostly do shows for children’s activities (children’s message, Sunday school programs, special services, fellowship time), but are open to ideas for other groups as well.  Contact Kathy or Thom Glovier at 724-774-4540.

KEEPSAKES”

They are still available!  Five (5) different designs; 3”x3”x1/4”; cost is still $5.00 each.  If you would like to purchase the ornaments, you may contact the church office at 724-375-5287.  It is requested that the cost of the ornaments be submitted with your order.

WHEELCHAIRS AND HIGHCHAIRS

It has been noticed that the wheelchairs and highchairs in the church are very old and rickety.  If anyone has slightly used and rather up-to-date wheelchairs or highchairs that they are trying to find a place for, it would be greatly appreciated if they would be donated to the church.

Thank you, The United Methodist Women

POINSETTIAS

Poinsettias go on sale November 6th.  Check your bulletin and Spire.

MIRACLE ON BRODHEAD ROAD

MIRACLE ON BRODHEAD ROAD – Thank You

By the time you have read this thank you, a total of 38 underprivileged folks will have a very blessed Christmas to look forward to.  Very generous donations have been made both within and outside of our Church family.  MOBR seems to blossom and grow each year only to get better and better.  Our Outreach Ministry team at one time was a little apprehensive about being able to fulfill the obligation to support the families that we take on each Christmas, however, those days are gone.  All that is needed is the asking and you give beyond our expectations without exception.  Your giving helps those who are trying to help themselves as we give to folks that are truly striving to make it on their own but fall a little short.  Rest assured that they are very appreciative.  Know that you have made a difference!  Thanks to all who participated in any way to include gifts and/or monetary donations, stocking stuffers, helping to wrap as well as clean up, and transport everything to one area of the Church for pickup.                   Peace, The Outreach Ministry Team
